For this project, we were tasked with designing a DVD jacket cover. I really felt this project was more about preparing a project for a commercial printer, than design (although both of these go hand in hand, obviously!). I have used a commercial printer in the past when I designed and printed the CATA Newsletter (many years ago), and learned a ton (since I knew nothing about printing) from the super-gracious guys at Sir Speedy, but I have to admit... I would be a much easier, informed customer now!
I chose to use both of my naughty dogs in the design, since they are quite photogenic and I really could use a DVD like this!
All of the stuff I design now is sent directly to a "copy shop", rather than a printer... I look forward to the day I get to put my commercial printing skills to use!
Dude, Kristen, that is really good!! So do you actually get a dvd cover out of it?? And what are you going into that you take this class for?
ReplyDeleteJen ~ you are so sweet... We didn't actually print the cover... but, we could have - it was ready for commercial printing! :)
ReplyDeleteI don't really know what I am going to do with these skills yet... I have always wanted to learn these programs and have the time... so, hopefully when I go to get another job someday... it will be something I enjoy and will be able to use my creative side...
